DX53D+Z Galvanized Steel Coil – EN 10346 Deep Drawing Grade

DX53D+Z galvanized steel coil to EN 10346 (material number 1.0951) – the deep drawing quality for parts that are formed hard and still have to carry load. Yield strength 140 to 260 MPa, tensile strength 270 to 380 MPa, elongation minimum 30% at A80.

  • Coating, Z100 – Z275 g/m², thickness 0.30 – 3.00 mm, width 600 – 1500 mm
  • Coil or cut to length sheet, mill certificate with each lot
  • MOQ 16 metric tons per specification

Introduction

DX53D+Z is the deep drawing grade of the EN 10346 hot-dip family, and it lands where most forming work actually sits. BOMIS supplies it as coil or cut sheet, Z100 to Z275, 0.30 to 3.00 mm thick, with the mill certificate on every coil.

Features

The DX53D+Z is specified with a minimum elongation of 30 % at A80 and a yield range of 140 to 260 MPa and this combination is the focus of the grade. DX54D draws deeper, takes it a bit further, but costs lower strength for the extra formability, so a part that is formed twice and then has to carry load generally does better here. Think brackets, duct sections and panel stiffeners instead of a single deep cup.

The carbon is limited to 0.12% and titanium to 0.30% resulting in a substrate that is stable enough for repeat production. This matters when the formed face remains visible because zinc stretches with the steel at the bend instead of flaking. Zinc boils at a relatively low temperature, so the coated steel is scheduled for welding, not the bare sheet.

Applications

DX53D+Z goes where a part is formed hard and then has to stay rigid. Appliance plants run it for drums and liners, automotive tier suppliers for inner panels and fuel tank shells, and building work for profiled cladding and ducting. EN 10346 sets no r90 or n90 value on this grade, so if your die depends on a measured anisotropy figure rather than a tryout, DX54D is the honest answer.

  • Washing machine drums and refrigerator liners
  • Automotive inner panels and fuel tank shells
  • HVAC ducting and profiled cladding
  • Light structural sections and cable trays
  • Pre-painted coil substrate for PPGI lines

Processing

Galvanising runs on our own line, so coating weight is set to your corrosion target rather than to whatever is left in the pot. Thickness holds from 0.30 to 3.00 mm and width from 600 to 1500 mm. We slit to press width or cut to sheet size in house, and lead time runs four to six weeks for standard specifications.

Packaging

Coils ship with the mill certificate and edge protectors on both ends. Standard sea packing is waterproof kraft paper under a galvanised steel jacket, steel strapped, and it holds through a forty day crossing without edge rust. Eye to the sky or eye to the wall, your call.

FAQ

Is DX53D+Z the same as SGCD3?

Close, not interchangeable — the two standards describe the grade differently.

Item DX53D — EN 10346 SGCD3 — JIS G3302
Forming class Deep drawing (DX5xD family) Drawing quality, class 3 of SGCD1–SGCD4
Yield strength Re 140 – 260 MPa, a specified window Not specified by the grade
Tensile strength Rm 270 – 380 MPa 270 MPa min
Elongation A80 30% min Higher, by thickness
Anisotropy r90 / n90 Not specified Not specified

Substitution note: a swap is only valid when checked item by item against the project technical agreement and confirmed in writing.

DX53D or DX54D — which do I need?

Take DX53D when the part is formed hard but still carries load, DX54D when the draw is the hard part. Send the drawing and we will say which we would run.

What coating weight should I specify?

For hard draws specify Z100 or Z140, because a heavier coating cracks sooner at the bend. Go to Z275 when the part then lives outdoors.

Can you provide MTC?

Yes. Settle which document and to which standard first, then we confirm it with production.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

16 metric tons per specification, four to six weeks for standard specifications.

Do you slit and cut to length?

Both, in house — slit to press width, cut to sheet size.
