Fast overview.

Galvanised Steel Sheet, 0.6 mm thickness, width 600-1500 mm, Coating Weight 30-275 g/m2, material grades DX51D+Z to S350GD+Z, ISO/CE certified, standard export packaging, minimum order quantity 10 metric tonnes. Available in longitudinal, transverse and fixed lengths.

The most common thickness of Galvanised Steel Sheet is 0.6 mm. It is supplied as cut sheets or Steel Coil after undergoing Hot-Dip Galvanising on a cold-rolled substrate. This thickness is suitable for bending, punching and also for forming processes. Coating Weight is 30 – 275 g/m² and thus suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. Widths from 600 to 1,500 mm, specifications do not need to be adapted to standard products.

Performance Features

This flexibility is enough for a sheet of 0.6 mm and the galvanised coating protects against rust. Coating Weight Optional: 30-275 g/m². And the only difference between cheap indoor panels and roof tiles that have survived years of weathering. Zinc acts as a sacrificial anode (it corrodes first), protecting the underlying steel. It also protects against damage such as nicks, scratches and cuts. Typical service life is 10-25 years depending on coating thickness and environmental conditions. The materials range from easily formed DX51D to load-bearing grades S350GD and S550GD. On the same Galvanising Line are available comparable grades such as SPCC, SGCC, SGCD, Q235, and A653. Project-by-project acceptance of JIS, EN, GB, and ASTM standards occurs, not the other way around.

This sheet is easily processed. At 0.6 mm thickness it is thin enough to fold and punch out complex parts but thick enough to keep the shape stable. Because of the sheet’s high formability, deep drawing does not cause cracks in the coating or base steel. The processing consists largely of cutting strips or sheets to the desired length. No flaking of the zinc coating at the bend radii and no tearing of edges during drilling. Welding is also common, with both resistance welding and arc welding allowed. However, layers such as Z275 welded on produce a lot of smoke which has to be extracted in advance. If you run a factory with this gauge, it boils down to one thing: every batch has to be stable enough. It is much more useful than looking at the data sheet, especially when you are preparing work reports.

The most obvious advantage is the surface quality of this circuit board. The board is flat and smooth and you can pick plain, small permanent, large or Zinc Spangle. The application is the final decision of the decoration, not the other way around. The zinc layer is painted and bonded directly to the metal. The surface treatment consists of passivation during painting in the paint shop, oiling during storage, and Anti-Fingerprint during enclosure manufacturing. Painting and printing can be done prior to shipment, so the panel arrives as a finished product, not as raw material. It is also more economical. Cheaper than stainless steel, much more rust resistant than conventional sheets and fully recyclable even on disposal. Price, protection, appearance and all general project requirements are satisfied.

Uses.

Galvanised Steel Sheet with a thickness of 0.6 mm is used for applications requiring corrosion protection and formability. Standard designs for inside or cover parts such as cabinets, housings, and boxes. The zinc coating is scratch protection during cutting. The coating is adapted to the ambient conditions. Subjected to the severe environmental conditions of interior parts (Z60-Z120), roof and wall panels, and semi-exterior parts (Z150-Z180, Z275). The grade classes vary with the load. Moulded parts: DX51D Load bearing parts: S350GD. `Grade governs load, coating governs environment.
It is an essential criterion for the many buyers to select before placing the order.

  • Distribution cabinets, control cabinets, housings for control boxes (DX51D+Z120).
  • Lightweight roof tiles, wall panels, ceiling joists, air ducts (DX51D+Z150/Z180).
  • Side panels for refrigerators/washing machines, casing for air conditioning units (DX51D+Z60/Z120)
  • Machine guards, storage racks, workbench shelves (S350GD+Z120 or DX51D+Z180).

Processing Capabilities.

The sheet-processing equipment is complete with all operations: cutting, trimming, flattening, bending, punching and pressing of sheets. Using the same sheet metal, which is 0.6 mm thick, you can make a corrugated cardboard, perforated cardboard, and textured panels, all assembled into a finished product without additional cutting, depending on your needs. Give us the parts you want and how you want them processed. We will build the panels to integrate into your current production line.

Shipping and Packing.

Export shipments are packed in standard ocean freight packaging. Sheets are wrapped in waterproof paper, reinforced on a wooden frame with steel strips and loaded into the container. This reinforcement means they can be stacked and packed neatly, saving space and making it easier to work out shipping costs. If you have other packaging requirements e.g. rust proofing film, different size of brackets or open top packaging, please state when ordering so that we can more easily cater to your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Which grades of Galvanised Steel Sheet are available in 0.6 mm thick?

A: DX51D is the most common grade. For load-bearing applications please use S350GD or S550GD. Also available are similar grades such as SPCC, SGCC, Q235 and A653. All JIS, EN, GB, and ASTM standards are met.

Q: What’s the right galvanised coating for me?

A: Consider the environmental conditions. Z60–Z120 Indoor equipment enclosure parts Z150–Z180 Roof and wall panels with ducted ventilation Z275 Coastal or harsh environments As we cannot provide you with the status of the processing, we will decide for you.

Q: Can we reduce the length of the tubes?

A: Yes. Sheets tandard length: 2000, 2440, 3000, 6000 mm. Please specify the desired lengths with your order. We will adjust the size before installation.

Q: How can I know the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

A: 10 metric tonnes for each size. Below that, freight and handling eat the price advantage. This quantity can be shipped according to standard shipping schedules and delivery times are regular.

A: What is the weight of a sheet of 0.6 mm thickness?

A: It weighs about 4.71 kg per square metre. If you calculate this as 0.6 × 7.85, the galvanised coating is less than 0.3 kg/m². Approximate weight of a 1.2 m x 2.44 m sheet is 13.8 kg.

Q: Why is Steel Coil more expensive than Sheets?

A: Galvanised wire is unwound and therefore is a finished product. The sheets are cut out of Steel Coil. Another step in the process, which adds to the cost of the sheets, is their cutting and unloading. The coil is cheaper.

Q: How to check quality before shipping?

A: At the factory we measure zinc coating thickness, do salt spray test, check tensile strength, verify dimensions and check surface finish. You can also sign contracts with third-party inspections.

Q: How long is the quote valid for?

A: 7 business days. Zinc prices are subject to market fluctuations and quotes can quickly become out of date. You need to compare rates for longer terms. Note, however, that you’ll have to renew the quote when it expires.
