These improvements win against standard hot rolled products. Their various applications include automotive parts, appliance casings, and construction roll-forming.

Surface Quality: We deliver a smooth, bright, and clean surface finish. After cold rolling, we remove the pit marks and heavy oxide scales from hot rolled products. This is essential for exposed panels, where aesthetics count.

Gauge Control: We ensure that tolerances are small, both on the length and the width. This prevents jamming and minimizes the need for adjustments in your automated stamping and forming lines.

Forming & Welding: We offer steel that is predictable during forming. It may be deep drawn, stamped, slit, and welded, and does not form splits and edge tears.

Coil Prep: The process begins with taking the raw hot rolled coil. The coil is uncoiled, leveled, and inspected for surface defects.

Pickling: The coil strip is subjected to an acid wash to remove the mill scale, rust, and iron dust.

Cold Rolling: The pickled coil is processed through a series of stands to roll and reduce the coil to the desired thickness.

Annealing: The steel becomes brittle after forming and requires softening for subsequent forming. This is accomplished through batch annealing.

Finishing/Coating: The coils can be galvanized or proceed to the color coating line for corrosion protection.

Q: What grade do you recommend for deep drawing applications?

A: If you are doing common deep drawing, we recommend low carbon steel grade DC04 or SPCE. If you are working with complex parts and need to stretch beyond the elastic limit or perform deep drawing with multiple draws, we recommend low carbon steel grades DC05 or DC06 to avoid the possible premature failure of the steel. If you send us your part drawings or tool specifications, we can consult you on the best grade of steel to use, depending upon the layout of your drawing and the mounting of your tool.

Q: Do you have a minimum order quantity?

A: For a particular specification and dimension, we usually require a minimum order of 25 metric tons. This amount will typically fill a particular order and result in a full run of a mill schedule. If the order minimum is too high, call our sales desk. If that grade and gauge of steel is in a planned run, we can usually combine your order with the planned run.

Q: What measures do you take to prevent steel rusting during ocean transport?

A: We care greatly about our export packaging. We make sure every coil is sealed in VCI anti-rust paper, sealed with poly wrap, secured with solid edge guard protectors, and secured with heavy-duty skids. We take great care to prevent the moisture and salt air from rusting the steel during the long transport by ocean freight.

Q: Do you ship to clients that require compliance to ASTM or JIS?

A: Yes, we absolutely do. We perform standard rolling and pouring per GB/T 5213, JIS G 3141, EN 10130, ASTM A1008M, and old DIN 1623 specs. Our QA lab reviews every heat for compliance to your spec, and full Mill Test Certificates (MTCs) ship with the steel.

Q: How long are your current lead times for bulk orders?

A: 3 to 6 weeks. Lead time depends on order size, order chemistry, and our mill book. If you are in a jam, you can contact us. If we have the appropriate master coils in stock, we’ll likely be able to expedite order processing.
