Why Use Brushed Stainless?

Consistent Aesthetic Finish: You get an even texture using our brushing lines. The finish is consistent whether you use Hairline or No. 4. Is an exact color match required? We do PVD plating as well.

Brushed finishes mask damage from normal wear and tear while maintaining steel’s core resistance to corrosion which extends the visual lifespan of the steel.

We can try a different approach. You won’t be charged for the request

Low Maintenance: Its surface is easy to clean with standard neutral cleaning agents, making it suitable for sanitary or high-traffic environments. The smooth and directional grain increases the cleanability and reduces dirt and dust buildup.

Brushed stainless steel balances the right cost and value for an option that is consistent for both the durability and low maintenance over time for commercial and architectural steel design projects.

Common Real-World Applications

You’ll see our brushed stainless steel in many applications across different industries because of its versatility and durability. Some of its applications include:

Architecture & Construction: Elevator cabins; building cladding; door and window framing; skirting; etc.

Appliance Manufacturing: Exterior fascias, structural housings, and control panels for many consumer appliances including refrigerators, ovens, and stovetops.

Cabinetry & Retail Fixtures: Paneling used to build commercial kitchen cabinetry, retail displays, & exhibit displays.

Infrastructure & Transit: Signage, ticket kiosks, transit check-in counters, column cladding, etc. in high-traffic venues like airports and subway stations.

Medical Equipment: Diagnostic machine housings, Operating tables, instrument cabinets, and cleanroom surfaces.

This includes machinery and equipment designed for industrial food processing and machinery to service commercial food preparation areas (also known as commercial kitchens). This also includes equipment to facilitate the movement of materials through the food production process.

FAQ

Q1: What brushed finishes do you offer for stainless steel sheets?

A: We provide a comprehensive range of brushed finishes to meet diverse architectural and industrial standards. Our core offerings include Hairline (HL / Long Grit), No. 4 Finish (Short Grit), and Vibration (Non-directional) finishes. We can also customize the grit size based on your specific project requirements.

Q2: Do you apply Anti-Fingerprint (AFP) coating to brushed stainless steel?

A: Yes, we do. Honestly, if it’s going into an elevator or a busy commercial lobby, we always push people to get the AFP nano-coating. It’s a clear layer that stops grease and smudges from showing up constantly. It saves building managers a ton of time on daily cleaning.

Q3: How do you ensure the brushed surface is not scratched during shipping?

A: Every sheet gets covered with a laser-compatible PE/PVC protective film (70um to 100um). We then pack them in heavy wooden pallets, wrap them in waterproof kraft paper, and strap them down with steel banding. Just a quick heads-up from the shop floor: don’t leave that PVC film baked on the steel in the hot sun for months on the job site. The adhesive turns into a gummy nightmare to peel off.

Q4: Which stainless steel grade should I choose for outdoor architectural cladding?

A: Grade 304 is the industry workhorse. But if you’re building near the coast or in a heavy pollution zone? Skip it. You’ll want to upgrade to AISI 316 or 316L. The added molybdenum stops pitting and crevice corrosion dead in its tracks.

Q5: Can I order custom cut-to-size brushed sheets?

A: Absolutely. We stock the standard 4x8ft, 4x10ft, and 5x10ft sizes, but our facility handles precision shearing, laser cutting, and slitting in-house. Give us your exact dimensions. We’ll deliver the parts straight to your line so you aren’t paying to ship scrap.
