Hot-Dipped Galvanised Steel Strip is the base material for many finished products, despite its narrow appearance. Galvanised Strip Pipe, Light Steel Keel, Strapping Band, and color-coated corrugated steel sheets are all produced using it. Cold-Rolled Substrate is processed through a Continuous Galvanising Line to produce a steel strip. The strip is cut to size from the master coil, and narrower coils are split into strips as needed. The advantage of this format is the easy procurement of material: the size specified is the Slit-to-Size, which is then divided into strips as needed. The delivery time is also specified so there is no need to buy the whole width and cut it yourself.
The zinc coating is what you are purchasing when you buy steel strip. For interior applications, a zinc coating from Z40 to Z275 g/m² is sufficient, Z40 to Z90 is also sufficient, while Z180 to Z275 is recommended in coastal regions, humid areas, and near chemical plants. Zinc acts as an anode, corroding first and protecting the base steel from cuts, impacts, scratches and other damage. The zinc coating is a factor in the normal service life. A thicker zinc coating will last several years longer than a thinner one. This also costs less than simply discounting the price.
Steel strip is typically categorised as Soft Temper, Semi-Hard Temper, or Full-Hard Temper based on hardness. Soft Temper steel is easy to bend and form, it does not tear or warp and hence is suitable for manufacturing complex shaped parts.

Semi-Hard Temper is the balanced option — suitable for keels and pipe fittings. Full-Hard Temper steel is very strong and dimensionally stable, making it ideal for Strapping Band and structural reinforcement components where load-bearing capacity is essential. Materials of Q195 Steel and Q235 Steel are mainly plain carbon steel. Materials of SGCC and DX51D are galvanised steel according to European standards. The same coil complies with the project acceptance requirements of JIS G3302, ASTM A653, and GB/T 2518.
For selection, refer to the two tables: hardness grade for load-bearing, zinc coating for weather resistance. The load capacity should be determined according to the hardness level, and the weather resistance according to the zinc coating.
There are three options for surface treatment: Surface Passivation for painted colour lines, Oiling for stock items and Film Lamination to protect scratches during transport. Tolerances are ±0.003 mm thickness and ±2 mm length and width. The batch is documented according to ISO 9001:2000. The strip is further processed on a continuous production line and excessive tolerances would interfere with the supply of raw materials, so this figure is not just a paper number — it decides whether the strip feeds your production line smoothly

Hot-Dipped Galvanised Steel Strip is almost exclusively used for further processing and is rarely used as raw strip. The material is mostly selected based on the desired end product.
The standard processes are cutting and slit-to-size. Master rolls can be Slit to Size 600-1250mm. Standard widths 104, 170, 175 and 204 mm. For narrower widths, just specify them when ordering. Slit-to-Size and Film Lamination are also available. The film is usually removed on arrival, before the strip goes onto your production line. Tell us about your production line and the end product you will be processing. Then we will make the roll according to the width and hardness.
Whole rolls or bundles, wrapped in moisture resistant paper, strapped with Strapping Band, packed directly into 20-foot containers or shipped in bulk depending on capacity. FOB Tianjin/Qingdao, within 25 business days after receipt of 30% deposit. Please specify any packaging requirements (e.g. rust-proof film, wooden frames, vertical pallets) when ordering.
Steel strip is a semi-finished product supplied in a form of narrow coils. Its width is Slit-to-Size as per downstream production line and supplied in coil or strip. Galvanised sheet is a sheet material of fixed length. Hot-Dipped Galvanised Steel Strip is the primary raw material used by producers of color-coated corrugated sheet blanks, Galvanised Strip Pipe, and Strapping Band. With sheet material you have to use the whole sheet as a structural member.
It depends on what you are making. For formed parts (deep drawing, bending complex shapes) – select Soft Temper. Light Steel Keel and pipe fittings are typically made of semi-hard temper sheet metal. Strapping Band and structural reinforcements are normally Full-Hard Temper, for as long as they have to stand the load. Choose your application and order your sheet metal. Adjust hardness accordingly.
The difference is in the weight of zinc coating. Z40 zinc is thin enough for indoor substrates and dry areas Z275 is thicker in zinc coating and resistant for many years in high humidity and highly polluted environment like coastal areas. It is important to pay more attention to the zinc coating thickness than the unit price, as the steel strip service life is determined by it.
We always have widths of 104, 170, 175 and 204 mm in stock. Master rolls can be narrower (starting from 30 mm, depending on tolerances and roll weight). Please specify strip width, thickness and zinc coating when ordering.
Yes. The film is resistant to transit damage and moisture. Most customers remove it before the goods get to their production line. At the time of ordering, it is discussed whether Film Lamination, Surface Passivation, or Oiling will be performed and integrated into the following process.
Usually 10 metric tonnes or more. All specifications can be supplied in roll or bundle format. The price advantage for smaller quantities is reduced by freight and loading/unloading costs.
Delivery will be made within 25 business days after receipt of a 30% down payment. The other 70% is payable upon receipt of a copy of the bill of lading. FOB Tianjin or Qingdao The normal loading volume is equivalent to a 20-foot container; larger quantities are shipped in bulk.
In the factory we measure zinc coating thickness, perform salt spray test, check tensile strength, verify dimensions and check surface finish. Every batch is documented according to ISO 9001:2000. Third-party inspection can also be arranged.
