Why Choose Our G550 Galvanized Steel?

Unmatched Strength-to-Weight Ratio
Maximize structural integrity while cutting material costs. Thanks to its ultra-high yield strength, our 0.6mm G550 steel delivers the same bending strength as standard 1.2mm galvanized steel. This significantly reduces the deadweight of your structures and lowers overall project expenses.

Extreme Environmental Durability
Engineered to outlast the elements. Our standard premium zinc coating provides exceptional everyday rust protection. For severe conditions—such as coastal regions with high salt fog or corrosive industrial facilities—we offer upgraded Galvalume (AZ) and ZAM coatings for ultimate, long-lasting defense.

Superior Processing Formability
High strength doesn’t mean compromising on workability. Our G550 steel is highly adaptable to cold bending, stamping, and welding. It seamlessly rolls into complex structural profiles, making it the perfect material for heavy-duty purlins (C/Z channels) and corrugated roofing sheets.

Versatile Surface Customization
Tailor your steel to both functional and aesthetic requirements. We offer a variety of surface treatments, including anti-fingerprint coating, eco-friendly passivation, and color pre-painting (PPGI). This versatility ensures our steel performs flawlessly across diverse applications, from heavy construction to premium home appliance manufacturing.

Versatile Applications of BOMIS G550 Galvanized Steel

Designed for high-performance and safety, our G550 high-tensile steel is the material of choice across multiple demanding industries:

Large-Span Building Enclosures
Ideal for modern industrial plants and mega-logistics warehouses. When profiled into standing seam roof panels and architectural wall cladding, our G550 steel delivers exceptional wind uplift resistance and long-lasting weather protection.

Heavy-Duty Structural Framing
The ultimate core material for load-bearing members. It is widely roll-formed into high-strength C-section and Z-section purlins and wall girts, providing rigid structural support while significantly minimizing overall building weight.

Composite Floor Decking Systems
Engineered for multi-story and high-rise construction. Processed into ribbed floor decking panels, our high-yield steel ensures superior load distribution, excellent concrete bonding, and enhanced structural safety during and after construction.

Automotive & Transportation Manufacturing

Driving lightweight and high-safety standards. Its outstanding strength-to-weight ratio makes it the preferred choice for heavy-duty truck crossbeams, commercial cargo body frames, chassis reinforcements, and critical automotive crash structures, ultimately maximizing vehicle payload and fuel efficiency.

Product & Specifications

Q1: What does “G550” mean in your galvanized steel?

A: “G550” refers to a high-strength structural steel grade defined by the AS1397 standard. It guarantees a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa, making it exceptionally strong and ideal for load-bearing applications. It offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to standard commercial steel grades.

Q2: What sizes and dimensions do you offer? Do you provide custom slitting?

A: We supply G550 steel in thicknesses ranging from 0.12mm to 5.0mm and standard widths of 600mm to 1500mm. Yes, BOMIS provides high-precision custom slitting and cut-to-length services to match your exact manufacturing requirements.

Applications & Coating Options

Q3: My project is located in a coastal/heavy industrial area. Which coating should I choose?

A: For highly corrosive environments, standard zinc (Z) coating might not be enough. We highly recommend upgrading to our Galvalume (AZ) or Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium (ZAM) coatings. ZAM, in particular, offers self-healing properties at cut edges and provides ultimate durability against severe salt fog and chemical exposure.

Q4: Can G550 steel be roll-formed or bent easily?

A: Absolutely. Despite its ultra-high strength, our G550 steel is engineered with excellent formability. It is widely used for cold bending and profiling into complex shapes like C/Z purlins, corrugated roofing sheets, and ribbed floor decking.
